Eric S. Clarke

Managing Director

Eric Clarke is managing director of the firm’s practice in the Washington, DC Metro region. Eric has over 12 years experience in financial reporting, auditing, risk analysis, compliance, and internal controls, and has served companies in a variety of industries.

Prior to joining Accume Partners, Eric was Director of Aronson Risk Management Services with responsibility for providing consultation in the areas of identifying and managing risk, and developing best practices in the areas of corporate governance and effective financial and operational management. Previously, he was Director of Internal Audit for a $750M publicly-held real estate corporation with responsibility for leading the firm through the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance process and developing its internal audit department.

Eric has expertise in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, SEC reporting, internal and external audit, fraud and forensic auditing, and financial and operational due diligence. As an expert in the field, he frequently participates in panels and conferences and authors presentations on complying with Sarbanes-Oxley. Eric was on the cover of Practical Accountant magazine’s November 2005 issue for his expertise in real estate and internal audit. He has also been published in Inc. magazine, Compliance Week, and several other business publications.

A member of the Virginia Society of Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Eric holds a masters degree in Accountancy from George Washington University, and holds a bachelors degree from Wheaton College.
